Are they truly worth the price?

They are about $2,000 but they are very powerful. The quad core by itself is an amazing processor. There are higher procesors out to date but quad's are still rather high in the market. They are cheap at times at about $1,700 but these usually aren't worth obtaining.

Thoughts and opinions on the subject?

I think if I had a good $30,000 to blow off I'd buy one.. Other then that I'd pass. :]

i'd wait , they are kinda costly but new tech is always gonna be .., wait till they come out with the next thing and then buy it and admire the new core thats out and do the same plan for that lol or i guess if you happen to get that $30000 then go for it as long as you get me one too lol jk, ill ask my dad about it =/

It's totally worth it. xD If I got better pay, I'd buy one. I plan on throwing together a PC this summer and the first thing on my list is a quad-core. I saw some pretty affordable ones a while ago, like the lowest being $150. It depends on the brand. It's also helpful to find sies that allow user reviews so you can see what other people think of them before you buy them. Yatta~ ^^ I heard there are a few drawbacks concerning overclocking and such but that can be fixed.

idk what my processor is, but my computer is L337, idk one of the newest but not a quad hahaha

They have dropped in price quite a lot. It's sad because now you can buy a $1,000 gaming laptop/pc and get a quadcore. The best ones still run like $2,000+.
